Settings

The "MyStud.IP" menu item accommodates a large number of setting options. It can be accessed from your personal homepage by clicking on the icon in the header. With it you can customise the appearance of Stud.IP and its functions to your needs (or Internet connection). You can reach MyStud.IP via your personal Homepage. (Click on the tool symbol in the header.)

By using the tab bar you can move directly to the individual setting areas:

  • General settings (language, hover effects and start page configuration)
  • Settings for the Forum system
  • Settings for the Appointment calendar
  • Settings for your Schedule
  • Settings for Personal tools (guest book, voting, reference lists)
  • Settings for the Messaging system (Stud.IP internal messages)
  • Settings for AutoLogin

The setting page, which you are now reading, is marked on the bar by a red arrow .

On the General information page, on which you are now located, you initially see the option of selecting a Language.

At present Stud.IP is available in German and English. (The English HELP function is now being translated.) The language which your browser requires as standard language is set as default. If you are surfing with a German-language browser, you will also see Stud.IP in German. If you use an English browser, English texts will also be shown. You can select your language of choice with the “Language“ Option.

You can set whether you desire to use hover effects by using the Java Script hover effects checkbox. If this function is activated, you can read the contribution corresponding to the subject headings simply by moving the cursor across them. In this manner, you can also work your way through long discussions rapidly and efficiently. However, since the loading times of the pages increase considerably, we only recommend this setting for users who have at least an ISDN connection.

When you click on your settings will be stored.

You can set which system area will be automatically accessed subsequent to the Login or AutoLogin with the Personal start page Option. When, for example, you regularly access the “My courses” page after logging in, you can set this here directly.
