Stud.IP lives from the interaction between users. In Stud.IP are some function which convey this.

The most attractive feature of the system is the personal homepage. Every user gets an own page right after the registration, which he can design within certain limits.

Other users in the system (and only these) can see your information on your homepage.

There are several ways how to find homepages of other users:

  • Linked names

If a name of a person in the system is shown as a link (marked blue), so it refers to the homepage. That can be a lecturer or a student in a overview of students participating in the course, the author of news or postings and much more. So do not be afraid to click on the name - you can't send an email by mistake.

  • The user search

Here you can search directly for names. Hits, which matches the names will be listed and are linked (described as above). You find the icon for the search in the top line.

Different features which promote interaction among the users have been integrated into Stud.IP.

The Homepage is surely the most interesting feature of the system. After registration every user is assigned an area which he or she can configure him-/herself within certain limits.

Other users in the system (and only they!) can then obtain information from this homepage.

There are many different possibilities for finding other users' homepages.

  • Links to names

In general, the following applies: if the name of a person is indicated as a link (blue color), this refers to the homepage. That can be lecturers or participants in the participant overview of a course, the author of news or postings and many others. Do not be afraid to click on names — you cannot, e.g., unintentionally send emails.

  • The person search

In this context you can search directly for names. You receive a set of hits whose names are linked as described above. You will find the icon for for conducting your search on the header bar.

Also you can see in the top line, if someone else is in the system right now, as soon as the "Who else is online"-button colours red. One click on it and you receive the list of the persons – of course with links to their homepages.

Just like you are pleased with other user's pictures, they will be pleased, too. So upload a picture. You find the description how to upload a picture here!

Also on the header bar you can see at any time whether someone other that yourself is currently in the system, i.e. as soon as the “Who is online” icon turns red. Click on it and you receive a list of these people — naturally with links to their homepages.

Even as you yourself enjoy other users’ pictures, others are glad when you yourself do not “politely remain in the background.” Reveal a bit of yourself to the other users, and upload a picture. You will find a instructions on how to do so here! here!
